On arrival at Calicut airport or railway station; you will be met by our representative & later proceed to Wayanad (76 kms) the green paradise; nestled among the mountains of the Western Ghats, forming the border world of the greener part of Kerala. On arrival check into the Hotel/Resort.

After lunch leave for Pookot Lake - the most beautiful tourist spot in the whole of Wayanad. The lake nestles in the lap of mountains surrounding it. Boating in Pookot Lake is a memorable experience.

Chain Tree - This large Ficus tree, bound by a prominent chain is an interesting excursion, approximately 15 km. from Kalpetta. It is said that a British Engineer, with the aid of a tribal guide named Karinthandan, found the difficult mountain terrain into Wayanad. Eager to take the credit for the discovery, the Engineer conveniently killed his guide, whose soul, according to the legend, constantly haunted subsequent travelers. It is believed that a priest chained the troublesome spirit onto this tree and hence name the Chain tree.

Morning after breakfast leave for Kuruwa Dweep - a vast island of 950 acres abundantly rich with green forest with an array of uncommon species of birds, herbs and orchids It is very far from the turbulence of city life making it an exotic place for visitors to relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature.

After Lunch Depart to Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary- a popular wild life sanctuary in Wayanad (Timings- 0600 - 0800 hrs and 1500 -1730). Safari at Wild Life Sanctuary.  These moist deciduous forests are rich in bio-diversity and form an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. It was here that the renowned Malabar king Pazhassi fought the British.

Depart to Hotel/Resort. Dinner at the resort; overnight stay in Wayanad.

WAYANAD
Today after breakfast proceed to Edakkal Caves (open till 5.00 pm) - two natural caves located 1000 metres above sea level. There are human and animal figures carvings on the rock walls depicting pre-historic period and civilized people. The caves can be approached by 1km trekking trail starting from Edakkal.

Afternoon visit Soochipara Falls also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls - a spectacular three tiered waterfalls, surrounded by dense equatorial forest vegetation. Locally referred to as Soochipara (meaning "Needle-like Rock), offers scenic views of some of the best tea estates in Wayanad. The Waterfalls is 200 metres (656 feet) and offers a cliff face that is ideal for rock climbing
